Insurance: Health Insurance Costs Exceed Income Growth across the Country

In all of the fifty states across the USA, the gap between income growth and private health care insurance costs has widened and is continuing to do so. This is a worrying trend for Americans in a country where jobs are limited, the economy has stalled and another worldwide recession looks imminent.

No matter where you currently live in America, whether on the LA coastline or along the New York shores, health care insurance costs have become an expensive outlay for everyone. During the last couple of years the recession across the world increased health insurance bills through all the American states. This then meant that Americans had to spend considerably more during that year for health care and necessary treatment drugs than they had for the same care and drugs the previous year. Insurance: Unemployed And Without Health Insurance. Now What?

You’re unemployed and your health insurance has lapsed. But cheer up because you can do something about it. Affordable health care options are available in most states, especially if you have no major health conditions. If you are uninsurable and still eligible for COBRA coverage, you should strongly consider accepting their offer.

However, allowing your insurance to lapse for an extended period of time should be avoided. Once your lapse reaches 63 days, you could risk losing pre-existing conditions coverage under either a new personal or group medical plan. And it is possible that an entire application could be denied.

Short-Term Health Insurance

Short-term health insurance plans provide temporary inexpensive coverage that will provide catastrophic benefits for individuals and families. Premiums are often 40%-70% lower than a comparable group policy through an employer. However, office visit or prescription benefits are typically subject to a deductible.
