While women represent nearly 50 percent of employees, they remain notably missing in upper management. Taking into account the top 500 corporations in America merely three percent of those are headed by a woman. Even though women make up half of the inhabitants in the U.S. in the 111th Congress less than 20 percent of representatives are female. Women make up almost half of the workforce, but their wages can be charted at far less than half of all wages paid, suggesting the bias in monetary compensation between men and women.
Women launch their careers with less monetary compensation than men do, and they do not get promoted as easily as their male counterparts in the work force. Those women who have earned their MBA and have attained mid-management status in their employment usually gain parity at this point.
